Kakheti, Georgia | 13% ABV | ISaperavi | Qvevri-Fermented
Crafted from Georgia’s legendary Saperavi grape—one of the world’s rare teinturier varieties with both red skin and red flesh—this expressive red hails from the village of Kisiskhevi in the Kvareli zone of Kakheti, Eastern Georgia. Hand-harvested from estate vineyards, the grapes are vinified using Georgia’s ancient winemaking method: fermentation in qvevri, large clay amphorae buried underground, where the wine remains on skins for 10 days before gentle pressing.
The result is a dry, medium-to-full-bodied wine with a deep inky hue and an elegant structure. On the nose, it offers bright aromas of red cherry and wild berries, while the palate unfolds with concentrated notes of cranberry, red currant, and blueberry, framed by zesty acidity and fine, balanced tannins.
This is a vivid and soulful expression of Saperavi—untouched by oak, yet complex and commanding in its own right. Serve slightly cool with roasted lamb, pork skewers, hard cheeses, or grilled oyster mushrooms. A true gateway to the ancient heart of Georgian winemaking.
