Dubonnet Rouge

Aperitif, On its own (and on the rocks), Dubonnet immediately strikes you with the taste of Port wine, a raisiny concoction with a distinctly herbal, bittersweet aftertaste. Lushiously ripe strawberries wrapped in spice on the nose, there is dark plum and herbal notes and roundness through out. Dubonnet goes well with gin, but it can get lost amidst the juniper, so try it with a more citrus gin. Dubonnet is a great aperitif, especially before savory food.
