Clos de la Roilette Fleurie 2019
There was Clos de La Roilette before there was Fleurie. When Fleurie was established in 1936, the estate’s owner was so miffed about losing his Moulin-à-Vent status he dropped an appellation name off his bottles entirely. Instead, his wine became known by the name Roilette and the accompanying picture of the owner’s horse by the same name. Today, Alain Coudert is the winemaker and continues to produce structured, deeply rich and perfumed Fleuries having fully embraced the Crus. Flavors of cherry, pomegranate, blackberries, herb and earth. Pair with turkey *hint.* Also nice chilled.
