The Sparr estate was founded in 1680 and is now managed by winemaker Alexandra Boudrot by way of Burgundy. Grapes grow on granite and limestone and harvested early to ensure freshness and minerality are preserved in the fruit. Fermentation and aging takes place in stainless steel with no malolactic to produce a bone dry Riesling with flavors of yellow apple and stone. Crisp with lingering acid on the finish and a touch of white pepper, this is a great food wine. This style of Riesling can stand up to heartier dishes of smoked meats as well as any seafood.
