Named after the assertive French cartoon heroine Adèle Blanc-Sec. Clairette is a rare grape with most plantings in the Rhône. Hand-harvested fruit is fermented whole cluster in cement tanks with 6-8 months of fine lees aging for a round, luscious mouthfeel. This year’s vintage is crisper with a definite acid kick in the mid-palate. Flavors of yellow apple, Bartlett pear, and bergamot; this one definitely falls into the funky white category.
