Erde Wines “Iceblink Luck” 2020

Winemaker Kirk Sutherland named his wine project Erde after the German word for earth; an homage to his mother. Half of the Grenache for this wine was direct pressed and the other half macerated for three days. From there the juice was blended with Sauvignon Blanc skins and Pinot Noir stems and laid to rest in a thousand liter steel tank. The process of making this wine is more than just creativity, it served the purpose of removing the taste of smoke from the wine: a result from the forest fires raging to the south. Named after the Cocteau Twins song!
