Georges Descombes Chiroubles VV
Georges Descombes grew up in vineyards watching his father tend vines and was heavily influenced by Marcel Lapierre as a young winemaker; he is sometimes referred to as the honorary fifth member of the Gang of Four. Descombes took over his father’s vineyards in the late 80s and immediately began the conversion to low intervention wine making. This wine made from Vieilles Vignes (very old vines) is bright with flavors of raspberry, blackberry, violet and citrus with firm acidity on the finish. All of Descombes spend a year aging in bottle before they are released. Enjoy now or in ten years. Try if you like Pinot Noir or Valpolicella.
