Brotherhood Carroll’s Mead
Washingtonville, New York
Made from honey, water, and yeast, this gentle mead is produced in upstate NY. Bright yellow in the glass, in the mouth it yields a strong, almost scorched, flavor similar to roasted barley malt. Mead was mostly served at weddings and celebratory feasts back in the day; its sweetness was intended to fend off the bitter taste of battle. Serve chilled and pair with spicy stews, stinky cheeses, and a prayer to the old gods.
