Cantalapiedra “Lirondo” 2020
Castilla y León, Spain
Father and son winemakers Manuel and Isaac are Verdejo “vanguards” in Rueda. The Lirondo cuvée was initially intended to be an orange wine, but the winemakers felt the direct press juice was drinking better. We’re glad, because this is the funky white wine of our imaginations. All stainless steel fermentation preserves the fresh citrus flavors of the grape, while 8 months sur lie creates a luscious texture. Flavors of preserved lemon and apricot.
