Bío Bío, Chile
100% Moscatel de Alejandria
This two month skin contact wine is made from the ancient North African varietal Muscat of Alejandria, also known as Zibibbo in other parts of the Mediterranean. Winemaker Manuel Moraga’s family has been making orange wine with this grape for 7 generations and it is considered a “farmer wine” in Zona Sur. Flavors of golden grapefruit and apricot with a slightly fizzy acidic finish. This is a very versatile wine and can stand up to some spice. Try it with a spicy bean chili.
