Basilisco Aglianico del Vulture Teodosio
The vineyard at Basilisco rests on the hillsides of extinct volcano Monte Vulture 450-600 meters above sea level. Dormant for close to 500,000 years, the volcano’s remains have settled and provided Aglianico vines with soil rich in minerals. Full bodied and fruit forward this bottle provides deep black cherry and ripe plum flavors with soft tannins. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel in caves that were once used as shelter by Albanian refugees. Wine is finished in French barrique for 10-12 months before being bottled.
