Antoine Sunier Régnié 2019
A student of Jean-Claude Lapalu, Sunier joined the natural wine world of Beaujolais in 2014 with his .8 hectares in Régnié. For this cuvée grapes are hand picked and whole cluster (with stems!) carbonic maceration takes place in concrete vats. Élévage mostly takes place in used Burgundy barrels for 7+ months. Régnié is an outlier with it’s savory, sanguine and earth flavors. This bottle boasts blueberry, cranberry, smoke, and stone flavors as well. This is a good pairing for blue cheeses, poultry and shellfish.
